Back in September I attempted my very own 30-Day Style Challenge over on Instagram. My intention was to wear a different outfit every day based on the simple prompts I created, which were open to interpretation. The goal: to find new outfits that I liked instead of constantly wearing the same ten things over and over. If I was a capsule wardrobe type of person, ten outfits would be fine, but I have TONS of clothing because I love it so much, I just hardly wear most of it and I want to change that. (That’s part of the reason for starting this blog, too.) Now, I didn’t “succeed” in the challenge, in that I didn’t complete it every single day, but I did end up discovering some looks that I hadn’t tried before, or that I didn’t wear often . . .
I have a confession to make; I don’t really like Pumpkin Spice Lattes. At least not the ones with coffee in them. (Pumpkin Spice CHAI Lattes are amazing.) That being said, I am very much a PSL kind of person. I love scarves and sweaters and boots and fall fashion in general. And I love pumpkin-flavoured anything. (Except coffee, for some reason.) Although the fall weather hadn’t really arrived yet on the day of this photoshoot, I still felt very fall-like in these colours and textures. That being said, I ordered an iced coffee to go with my pumpkin cream cheese muffin, because it was so warm out. PUMPKIN COLOURS My inspiration for this outfit was definitely pumpkins and PSLs, so I went for orange and tan with a pop of green, . . .
Who doesn’t love mint green? Okay, well, I’m sure there are some people who don’t, but I am not one of them. I am often drawn to mint green clothing and end up buying it, but I don’t always wear it that frequently, and that’s a shame. So today I’m sharing a few of the ways that I do wear it, and hopefully it will inspire me to wear it more. And maybe it will inspire you, too! MINT + TEAL Black open-front cardigan - Rickis Teal layered blouse - Rickis Mint skinny cords - Old Navy Teal pointed-toe shoes - Dorothy Perkins This is a combination I discovered while playing around with my wardrobe. I really wanted to wear these teal pointy flats—another colour I don’t wear often enough—and realized that this colour looks great with mint. . . .
